New Feature: Editors Panel
We’re pleased today to announce the release of a product which has been in the works for over a year now; the RSHumor.Net Editors Panel.
The premise is simple. Allow users who sign-up and confirm their account identity (more on this later) to have quick access to their pictures, and to be able to edit the descriptions. But that’s not all it turned out to be, and more features quickly became added. Here’s a brief overview.
–Multiple file uploads (Now you can upload more than one file at a time if you want to submit many pictures at once, and you can select your name to have them appear under, with less typing required - and a nice interface!
–Stat Sig Generator (We’ve incorporated the stat-sig generator from the main site and it generates all the codes for forums and web pages all in one massive go, but with one change. You now have the ability to have your runescape name and your contributor name (name you submit pictures under) be different, but have the signature reference your contributor name when the picture displays how many pictures you’ve uploaded.
–Format Your Name (It’s now possible to change the look of how your name appears throughout the site IE: lil_fusion to LiL_Fusion)
–Edit your picture’s descriptions (When you’ve confirmed your account, we allow you access to modify the pictures descriptions that are submitted under your username. If some pictures aren’t correctly marked you have an opportunity to “unclaim” them and have them removed from your name, or you can contact an admin and have them change a picture which you don’t have access to by default to your name. Now if you didn’t submit a description when you uploaded the picture, you can edit it to your hearts content after the picture is approved to make to make it representative of your picture.
–PICTURE TRACKING! (The most requested feature ever. We now allow you to see all your picture’s status messages, and where they are. For example, you can see if a picture was denied, if it’s pending review (so you know you don’t have to submit it again) or if it’s approved. Each case it will give you the ID number, so you know where your picture will be, and don’t have to spend a lengthy period of time searching for it!

How do you get started?
Easy! Head on over to the Editors Panel and click on the “Signup” link. Enter in your correct information (VERY! important) and login. Once you’ve logged in. Click on “Edit my Profile” and look for the “Verification String”.
… Now for the important part.
Login to your Runescape account, and take a screenshot of your character (or name you contribute under) with the verification string (IE: “a8Dda”) in the chat box (you don’t have to press enter, just have it typed) and email the screenshot to admin@rshumor.net. (In the next few days this process will change and become easier, but as this is the “beta” release of this product, we need to make sure nothing bad happens).
Once we’ve received your screenshot, we will modify your account’s permissions so that you may unclaim and edit your pictures. Until this happens (though normally the wait is not long) you may still upload pictures and perform other functions within the panel.
It really is a great and complimentary feature for RSHumor.Net to launch, it opens up our database and makes things much more user friendly for everyone.

371 images added
Just wrapping up a slightly overdue image update. Mostly my fault so I apologize =P
I’m sure you guys will quickly forgive me though, since I ended with 371 images to be added to the site.
Also, we made a few tweaks to the upload page.
More exciting news will follow in a short bit of time so hang on, this is only the first part of today’s update!

RSHumor Forums!
We’ve begun a new “push” so to speak to promote the RSHumor forums, and to make them active again, so I just wanted to encourage everyone to join them and say hello to other RSHumor fans.
We’re going to be running some exclusive contests fairly soon and you’ll have to be a forum member to participate, so we encourage you to join the rshumor forums today!

On a seperate note:
We’ve made some minor layout changes to RSHumor, and I’ve restructured the Chat page to be more relevant to RSHumor, it previously was not.
The goal this week is to improve some of the pages and information on the site to make it easier to navigate, but also to be more useful. An update may occur, but we’ve been on top of the image submissions, so it looks like a large addition will occur fairly soon!

Website Downtime
Just a little message to let you all know the website downtime across our network of sites (Runescape Pking, as well as others) has now ended. There was a small server glitch, but it’s been taken care of thanks to the staff at the DataCenter.

New Stat Sigs Added
After receiving some feedback yesterday, Linda and I decided we would add a few more stat-sig deigns to be more accommodating and flexible. We’ve added 10 more it looks like, hopefully you find one that fits your fancy now!
I also fixed a bug with the way the f2p and p2p combat numbers were being calculated. Absolute Value = lame…but, it fixed it! Pay attention to math in school kids.

UPDATE: We received some feedback about some of the colors and the text being un-readable. We will fix this ASAP, you can go ahead and use the colors you want still, as once they are fixed your sig will be updated automatically. Only minor tweaks are necessary, thank goodness.

213 New Pictures Added!
After a long week of trying to get as much done as we possibly could for the site, the hardest part was by far going through the 700+ images submitted by all of you and choosing the ones to add to the site. We’ve just finished adding 213 new images into the database, and they should be going live in just a few moments when the script starts calling everything again.
Keep sending in images as you see them, everyone doing just that has made RSHumor what it is today. Horrah!

New Addition!
Some of you may have been browsing the site this evening when you saw something new appear pink on the navigation sidebar.
We are pleased to announce that after many requests we have created a new Stat Sig for you to use to support RSHumor as well as display your RSHumor and Runescape accomplishments!
We currently have two signatures to choose from, more colors and versions may be added soon, but these took a long time to code as they are a little different than most that you see on a lot of other sites. We chose to use the ‘in-game’ icons instead of the high-score icons for a bit of a different look. Here are the samples!
As you can see, the first one is primarily basic skills and information with a nice design, but the second one is where all the fun is to be had!
The second one displays in the very bottom (automatically) how many images you have on RSHumor, which is something to be very proud of!
We encourage you all to use them, and hopefully we can keep adding little features to them as time progresses.

Back + New Feature

A New Featured Chart!
“Overall Most Positively Voted Images”
Basically is total votes UP - DOWN votes, so you can see the ones that are the best by total votes on the site, taking into account negative votes, hopefully this makes things a little more easy for those of you who were doing the math manually, it’s now done for you. As with the other charts, this one is cached as well as it is the most server intensive as it has to read the entire table then do a ton of math in a matter of seconds, so there is a bit of a delay. BUT!
Please vote on as many images as you can so that we may begin to use feedback to take some pictures out of the database that are deemed “unworthy”.
You be the judge. Happy Belated easter, hopefully there will be another update in a day or two ;), as well as an image update early next week.

Happy Easter
We’d like to wish everyone a Happy Easter, whether you’re celebrating it yesterday, today or tomorrow (or not at all as the case may be - you get paid double time at work regardless ;D). 210 New Runescape Pictures!
Yey update is finally done (Thanks to Linda =)). we’re pretty much caught up with the backlog of images now…I think between the export a few hours ago, and the import 5 new images surfaced — those will have to wait until the next update.

To find out if any of your images got added, the best thing to do is do a search. We’re working on a new script that can email you (if so desired) if your image is accepted, with the appropriate image ID number. Spread your pictures around to your friends, everyone needs a good laugh!
